Throughout high school, I was a youth leader with the Youth Group for Indian Culture(YGIC), educating younger members on our rich Indian heritage while serving the underprivileged in our community. During the lockdown, I grew increasingly aware of Dayton's severe shortage of winter clothing, which motivated me to step up. Each year, the ten of us dedicated over 50 hours each to hand-crafting winter clothing using crowdsourced material, donating these to a local shelter. Throughout my time with YGIC, I learned the importance of teamwork, the value of service, and how small acts can bring dignity to others.
